Everyone loves Chicken

What would we do without Chicken in an Apricot-Butter Glaze...slurp slurp

Hi readers, I watched a very interesting program last night that featured a member of WHO (World Health Organization). The discussion was in reference to latest outbreaks of "H5N1"(the deadliest strain of Avian Flu). The outbreaks have occurred along the Asiatic Pacific rim countries such as Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia. Studies have shown that this virus has shown a 50% mortality rate among contractors. Some people believe that this is not a virus that stems from an avian origin and the people of the mentinoned countries continue to farm and consume the poultry stocks along the infected corridor. Let's just hope that Uncle Sam and the CDC continue to monitor the progress of this potentially lethal virus.

Influenza A (H5N1) virus – also called “H5N1 virus” – is an influenza A virus subtype that occurs mainly in birds. It was first isolated from birds (terns) in South Africa in 1961. Like all bird flu viruses, H5N1 virus circulates among birds worldwide, is very contagious among birds, and can be deadly.

Is Nature unnatural?

Pretty sweet house Kong, ooop's.....sorry about the shingles bra!
. Just a couple of thoughts I'd like to share amongst those who are interested enough to read-on.

I'd like to start this out by saying that I do not wish to offend any individual, race or group with regards to some points I'd like to share. In this crazy world of information technology that is just a *click* away, sometimes it seems difficult to decipher between what is right and what is wrong definitively.

I guess what I am trying to say is, what is considered right and what is considered incorrect or wrong is up to ones perspective or point of view, right?

When I sometimes struggle to determine this (as I am sure most men do throughout life), my thoughts often gravitate towards the ways of a civilization that is considered by me, to be the most natural form of life or existence on planet Earth.

I am referring to the animal kingdom itself. Let's look no further than let's say, a pride of Lions. Enter a clan of Hyena (African dogs) stroll into the territory of a pride of lions, this of course triggers and immediate response amongst the cats. The basic reasoning or cause behind immediate & territorial reaction amongst the pride is identification and protection...pretty simple and natural at the same time.

When it comes to humans, this reaction is often displayed naturally, but in different forms carried out by different decisions that result in different actions. It appears that the majority or popular vote amongst humans leans towards a very negative perception towards this kind of behavior.

Let's face it, humans are animals and people who are indigenous to certain part's of the world will differentiate in culture, smell, physical make-up, personality.....etc. Why is this so difficult to understand or even accept at times?

For me, I find that the biggest challenge in life is to put oneself in another's persons situation. In order to truly understand someone else, one has to sacrifice some personal time to dedicate all the variables involved to reach this truly selfless act.

I leap-frog to the actual point that I am bringing out here. I feel as though the only potential element that differentiates us from most of the Animal kingdom is a state of conscience. Maybe we are, by nature, more compassionate and caring of another species than the rest of the animal kingdom. Whether it's God's will or from the other side of the coin from a scientific standpoint, we are not that much different than the inhabitants we share this planet with. Man's inability to get along with one another has led to some horrific, non-humane events.

Now, is this behavior at times towards our fellow man considered unnatural or is this pure nature at it's most ruthless point? As ugly is it may seem at times, I think it's still technically natural.

If you believe in God like I do, you could say that God's greatest gift to all living species is the gift of free will. With this ultimate gift comes a lot of responsibility and pain. If we were made in God's image, then maybe the rest of nature is supposed to serve as an ugly reflection towards what can transpire throughout it's natural course

Philly in the veins

In Philly for an event or just happen to be passing by? Ok....then you have to stop @ either Jims Steaks on South Street, or Nicks Roast Beef in South Philly. This is real Philly flavor. The cheesesteak with "wiz & onions" and the carved Roastbeef with provolone cheese, dripping with delicious gravy and it's own natural juices. The two best sandwiches this side of any side!

There will never be a professional sports team that has had as much impact on me like the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies.

This team brought so much heart and soul to the game. "Shake & Bake" Mcbride, "The Secretary Of Defense" Maddux, "The Bull" Luzinski.......etc.

Too bad the community in which I resided at the time, suffered a black-out right before "The Tugger" threw the last few pitches to close out the final momments of the 1980 World Series.

Hi, I think some of these pics enter the realm of creativity. It's amazing what can be captured with a panoramic lens.
